Barrie Hydro Distribution Inc. (“Barrie Hydro”) in order to operate as a Local Distribution Company (“LDC”) in the Province of Ontario must have a valid Electricity Distribution Licence as issued by the Ontario Energy Board (“OEB”).

Our current Electricity Distribution Licence is ‘ED-2002-0534’ and within this licence is the detailed description of Barrie Hydro’s service area.

In our case we actually have seven (7) separate service areas and they may be generally described as follows:

1)    City of Barrie Service Area                                                                 

2)    Community of Bradford West Gwillimbury Service Area                    

3)    Community of Thornton Service Area                                                

4)    Community of Alliston Service Area                                                   

5)    Community of Beeton Service Area                                                   

6)    Community of Tottenham Service Area

7)    Community of Penetanguishene Service Area
